Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech I in Houston, TX. You will support patients through admission to discharge, participate in treatment planning, lead psychoeducational groups, and assist nursing staff while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

The role emphasizes timely documentation, accidents/crisis response, and adherence to policy. Full-time position with evening shifts (Fri-Tue or Thu-Mon, 3pm-11pm) at the Houston facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire, training provided.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all DBH policies and procedures.
• Provides exemplary customer service to all patients.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records.
• Facilitates patient daily needs per the program schedule.
• Assists Nursing staff with duties as directed.
• Recognizes, responds to, and assists in crisis situations.
• Monitors patient activity and documents shift notes and group notes.
• Maintains an organized and safe environment and basic housekeeping.
• Completes online training and ensures HR file is up to date.
• Substance Use Division: collecting urine specimens with chain of custody.
