Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech I to support patients from admission through discharge. You will assist with daily activities, monitor safety, and help with treatment planning and group sessions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
• Valid State Driver's License required.
• Must obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire, training provided.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid training, certification provided.
• Substance Use Division: minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all DBH policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient safety and confidentiality of information.
• Assists in daily activities, meals, hygiene, and group sessions.
• Supports nursing staff with duties and patient supervision.
• Documents shift notes, group notes, and required documentation accurately.
• Responds to crises and provides appropriate interventions.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Observes infection control and hand hygiene policies.

Education

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Valid State Driver's License

CPI certification within 90 days

CPR, AED, and First Aid

Substance Use Division: 1 year sobriety
