Job summary

Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health in Fresno, CA is seeking a full-time Behavioral Healthcare Technician I to provide direct care in a residential adult facility. Under clinical supervision, you will assist with ADLs, monitor wellbeing, support treatment plans, administer medications, and collaborate with doctors and therapists to promote recovery.

The role includes night shifts and duties to maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Skills: multitask, manage client care, maintain facility standards.
• Other: leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with equity and/or diversity initiatives.
• Written and oral communication skills to perform essential functions.
• Ability to establish cooperative relationships with staff and clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide personal care assistance to patients as needed.
• Observe and influence patients’ behavior in a positive manner.
• Support the clinical team through crisis intervention, case management, and coordination of patient treatment plans.
• Collaborate with and assist doctors, psychologists, and rehabilitation therapists to treat and rehabilitate patients.
• Medication Support and Health Monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments following the physician’s prescriptions.
• Issue medications from the dispensary and maintain records per procedures.
• Report symptoms, reactions, and progress to the Nurse Practitioner or Facility manager and take appropriate action.
• Take and record measures of patient’s physical condition (temp, BP).
• Monitor patients’ physical and emotional well-being and report unusual behavior.
• Document nursing observations.
• Nutrition and Meal Preparation.
• Ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition and grocery/food management.

• Maintain patient records and participate in meetings and briefings.
