Job summary

Ability Builders is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician/Direct Therapist to organize data collection, assist with behavioral assessments, and support program implementation. Responsibilities include data management, session prep, and collaboration with lead therapists and staff.

The role requires experience with children who have developmental disabilities, adherence to behavioral protocols, and readiness to train parents and staff. Must have reliable transportation and daily email checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 college credits; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, speech and language, occupational therapy, education, or related field highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data based on observable client behavior.
• Assist lead therapist in maintaining up-to-date graphs, summarizing and calculating data.
• Write progress notes, program updates, create session materials and stimuli, maintain program books.
• Actively participate in implementation of baseline, treatment, parent training, and generalization sessions.
• Assist with session preparation and clean-up (room setup, computers, recording equipment).
• Assist with protocol dissemination, protocol reviews, and staff/parent training.
• Utilize safe handling, management and guidance procedures with clients.
• Provide direct client care following behavioral protocols/programs; may be one-on-one or group.
• Shadow/co-treat/treat at least 2–4 contact hours per week.
• Report parent concerns to the lead therapist; note concerns to supervisor.

Education
