Job summary

Ability Builders is urgently hiring a Behavioral Health Technician/Direct Therapist to organize data collection, assist with behavioral assessments, and help implement treatment programs for children with developmental disabilities.

You will work under the supervision of a BCBA and may lead sessions in their absence, with responsibilities including data entry, progress notes, and parent training. This role requires reliable transportation and commitment to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher education preferred in psychology, education, or related field.
• Experience with autism and behavioral protocols is desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities required.
• Willing to learn and implement early learning curricula and behavioral principles.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data based on observable client behavior.
• Assist lead therapist with data graphs, summaries, and data calculations.
• Write progress notes and program updates; prepare session materials.
• Support baseline, treatment, parent training, and generalization sessions.
• Prepare and clean up session activities and equipment.
• Assist with protocol dissemination, reviews, and staff/parent training.
• Follow safe handling and guidance procedures when transporting clients.
• Provide direct client care per prescribed behavioral programs; one-on-one or in groups.
• Shadow/co-treat/treat 2–4 hours per week.
• Report parent concerns to the lead therapist; notify on suspected child abuse within 24 hours.
