Job summary

Premise Health in Burbank, CA is seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Team Lead to provide clinical leadership for licensed behavioral health staff at our new Health Center.

You will manage caseloads, supervise staff, and deliver psychotherapy using CBT, EMDR, CAMS, and other approaches. Requires MSW/psychology/counseling and state licensure; CAMS-care certification within 12 months of hire. Position starts early May 2027.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or equivalent field.
• Licensed as a mental health clinician per state requirements (LCSW/LPC/LMHC/LMFT, etc.).
• CAMS-care certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• 5 years of experience in behavioral health.
• Crisis management and cultural competence.
• Knowledge of confidentiality and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to licensed behavioral health staff.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert in interviews and staff development.
• Manage caseload and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide psychotherapy or counseling to individuals, groups, couples, or families.
• Apply evidence-based interventions (CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, CAMS).
• Enter data into patient charts to ensure up-to-date records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Full-Time Behavioral Health Team Lead, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our new Health Center located in Burbank, CA.

*Position scheduled to start beginning of May 2027

What You'll Do

• Provide clinical leadership and support to Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health staff, including chart reviews, input for performance appraisals, hiring and staff development
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in interviews and contribute to training, education and development of behavioral health staff
• Manage case load, maintain accurate documentation, and engage clients in personal and social goal setting, treatment planning, and community resources as needed
• Provides psychotherapy or counseling to individuals, groups, couples, or families
• Apply evidence-based intervention within scope of practice, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Written Exposure Therapy, and CAMS
• Enters data into patient’s chart to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

Education:

• Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or equivalent field of study
• Licensed as a mental health clinicians as per state requirements: examples include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
• LMSW is not accepted across states
• For NY ONLY, LCSW, LMHC-D and LMFT-D are accepted
• Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS-care) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire

Experience:

• 5 years’ of experience in the field or in a related area
• Prior counseling experience in the field of treatment of behavioral mental health including depression, mood disorders, alcoholism and drug dependency, family counseling, marital relationship, grief, loss, etc
• Crisis management, abuse reporting, and cultural competence to meet the diverse needs of the population served in a treatment setting
• Experience identifying, preventing, and treating of suicidal behaviors
• Patient referral management and knowledge of available referral resources
• Previous clinical experience in integrated behavioral health settings preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must possess the ability to lead others
• Must possess ability to interact and consult with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to include primary care providers, community providers and services as needed
• Must possess diagnostic assessment and referral skills (advanced clinical training at master’s degree level) and skills to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans, specifically for persons with behavioral or mental health concerns (specialized training and experience)
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish a good rapport with all levels of the organization, identify problems and motivate individuals to take necessary action; professional practice skills reflecting adherence to the highest ethical standards
• Must have training and education in crisis management, abuse reporting, and cultural competence to meet the diverse needs of the population served in a treatment setting
• Must have training on the identification, prevention and treatment of suicidal behaviors
• Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes
• Knowledge of Internet navigation, spreadsheets and word processing software
• Knowledge and respect of confidentiality and HIPAA laws
• Strong written and oral communication skills required to effectively communicate with a broad range of individuals
• Ability to provide group, individual, and family counseling sessions
• Strong problem-solving skills required
• Must display professionalism and leadership qualities
• Flexibility in response to urgent psychosocial situations

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $101,483.20 - $126,854.00 annually. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
