Job summary

Connections Health Solutions in Leesburg, VA seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist (Safety & Security) to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors. The role includes front entrance screening, patient assessment, vitals documentation, de‑escalation, and unit coverage.

You will document in the EHR, assist with daily living activities, and participate in occasional court proceedings. Shift differentials apply for higher earnings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of behavioral health experience.
• Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
• Company requires vaccination per policy and proper documentation.
• Must pass Virginia DBHDS background check and Virginia DSS background investigations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of the facility by greeting and screening visitors and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Monitor and document individuals every 15 minutes and assist with daily living activities.
• Provide de-escalation using therapeutic techniques and perform restraints if needed to protect individuals and staff.
• Document services and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Attend court ordered hearings as subpoenaed and provide testimony when required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility and unit, and participate in required trainings.
