Job summary

Anne Arundel County Department of Health is seeking a full-time member for the Behavioral Health Bureau. You will support the Hub and Spoke program aimed at enhancing access to treatment for opioid use disorder patients, working closely with a dedicated team.

Your role involves extensive collaboration with medical staff to create effective protocols and provide necessary assessments and referrals. Candidates should have an Associate degree and two years of relevant experience.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

As a member of a two-person team, support the county’s Hub and Spoke program which expands access to buprenorphine for opioid use disorder patients and coordinates care across spoke sites. The team collaborates with physicians and staff at spoke sites to discuss cases, provide assessments, recommendations and referrals, develop protocols, and coordinate services.

Education

Associate degree in counseling, human services, or related field from an accredited college or university.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in counseling, human services, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in substance use treatment.
  • Ability to conduct screenings and assessments for substance use disorder treatment with understanding of ASAM levels of care and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for opioid use disorder.
  • Experience providing care coordination and case management services.
License or Certification

LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC, LCADC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT

Notes

Must have a personal vehicle available for travel and a current Maryland driver’s license with a clear driving record.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications
  • Good standing as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Graduate Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker–Certified (LCSW-C).
  • Certification by the Board of Professional Counselors as a CAC-AD, CSC-AD, and ADT will be considered.
