Behavioral Health Specialist Clinical Resource Team

Job Overview: As part of the Clinical Resource (CR) Team, the Behavioral Health Specialist provides direct patient care, safety, supervision, and management of children and adolescents with behavioral health needs across various settings including emergency services, medical units, and behavioral health programs. Duties are performed under the supervision of a licensed professional and include implementing behavioral treatment plans and working alongside clinical staff to maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.

Additional Information: Department: Clinical Resource; Status: Full-time, 36 hours/week; Shift: Based on department needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, human services, education, biology, neuroscience, or related field.
  • Or four years of professional experience in a related field, which can substitute for a degree (30 college credits = 1 year experience).
  • Certification in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR; de-escalation training certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct care and managing safety for pediatric patients, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Building therapeutic rapport and leading therapeutic groups.
  • Implementing and monitoring individual treatment plans.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
  • Responding to escalated patient situations with crisis prevention and verbal de-escalation skills.
