Behavioral Health Specialist Clinical Resource Team

Location: Denver; Aurora, Colorado; Broomfield; All Locations

As part of the Clinical Resource (CR) Team, the Behavioral Health Specialist serves as a system-wide resource responsible for direct patient care, safety, supervision, and management of children and adolescents with behavioral health needs across diverse environments such as emergency services, medical units, and behavioral health programs. Performs duties under the supervision of a licensed professional and implements behavioral treatment plans. Collaborates with clinical professionals to provide a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.

The Behavioral Health Specialist may start their shift in one unit and be reallocated to another based on census and acuity to meet operational needs. Extended periods in one department may occur to offset long-term absences.

Annual Salary Range: $21.35 to $32.02 per hour

Hours per week: Part-time and Full-time positions available. Please specify your preferences in the application questions.

Note: The BHS may be reallocated to different units based on operational needs, with possible extended time in one department to offset long-term absences through the Months Program.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, human services, education, biology, neuroscience, or related field.
• Equivalency: Four (4) years of direct professional experience or a combination of experience and college credits (30 credits = 1 year experience) in a related field.
• Certification(s): Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification. De-escalation training certification from CHCO within 90 days of hire.

Job Highlights

• Provides direct patient care and management under supervision of a registered nurse or licensed psychiatric professional.
• Leads, monitors, and collaborates on educational and therapeutic groups.
• Participates in clinical rounds and communicates with leadership.
• Responds as part of the Behavioral Assistance Resource Team, assisting patients, families, or visitors under 18 exhibiting potential harm.
• Maintains documentation, completes patient checks, and provides one-to-one observation or milieu management.
