Job summary

Tennova Healthcare LaFollette Medical Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join a dedicated care team in a PRN Days role. The RN will provide patient-centered care within the behavioral health unit, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to ensure safe, effective outcomes in a compassionate environment.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, emergency response, and patient/family education.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care per nursing process and policies.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency.
• Collaborates to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Educates patients and families about conditions, plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control and patient safety standards.
• Documents care thoroughly in the medical record.
