Job summary

Community Health Systems in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for a PRN Days position. The RN will provide patient-centered care using the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, and coordinate plans based on physician orders and patient needs.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
• RN licensure in Alabama or a compact state.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and organizational protocols.
• Document assessments and changes accurately and report conditions promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency.
• Collaborate to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge care.
• Maintain infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
• Document care thoroughly and participate in audits and compliance checks.
