Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health - Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) to provide direct patient care at UAB St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL.

This PRN position offers 8-hour day shifts (7:00 am - 3:00 pm) as needed within the Behavioral Health - ECT department. Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date (American Heart Association/Red Cross accepted).
• Alabama Board of Nursing Registered Nurse licensure required prior to hire date.
• One year RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals and interventions.
• Implement nursing care and co-lead group therapy as appropriate.
• Evaluate patient response and revise nursing plan; collaborate with the team as patient status changes.
