Schedule: Nights (6pm - 6am)

Shift: Days vary depending on needs

The role you’ll contribute:

The Staff RN practices as a professional nurse within the limits of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Utilizes skills, knowledge, and the nursing process to ensure quality care, in harmony with the philosophy, goals, and policies of the Nursing Department and hospital administration.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive plan of care through a multidisciplinary care team process, in conjunction with the patient/family in internal and external settings.
  • Assess patients' goals, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, discharge planning needs, and financial status comprehensively.
  • Procure services and advocate on behalf of the patient/family for scarce resources.
  • Contact other key team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff involved in the care of case-managed populations.
  • Seek peer consultation for cases with problems or significant variances.
  • Act as a liaison to post-hospital care providers and community health resources.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas or in a qualifying compact state.
  • Experience working in a psychiatric hospital setting PREFERRED.
