The role you’ll contribute:

The Staff RN practices as a professional nurse within the limits of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time, utilizing skills, knowledge, and the nursing process to ensure quality care aligned with the philosophy, goals, and policies of the Nursing Department and hospital administration.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive plan of care through a multidisciplinary process in conjunction with the patient and family.
• Assess patients' goals, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, discharge planning needs, and financial status comprehensively.
• Procure services and advocate on behalf of the patient and family for resources.
• Coordinate with other team members as needed.
• Collaborate with staff involved in the care of case-managed populations.
• Seek peer consultation for complex cases.
• Act as a liaison to post-hospital care providers and community health resources.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas or a qualifying compact state.
• BLS certification.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting PREFERRED.
• BSN PREFERRED.
