Job summary

Generations Healthcare is seeking an RN for our Behavioral Health Unit in Sacramento, CA. The role focuses on direct nursing care, supervision of day-to-day activities by Mental Health Specialists, and adherence to state and federal standards to ensure high-quality care.

The position requires a nursing degree and active RN license, with preferred 1 year of behavioral health experience. It offers a full-time schedule with health benefits and potential sign-on incentives, depending on eligibility

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license to practice in this state.
• Preferred, at minimum, 1 year of experience in a psych and/or locked facility or hospital setting.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to behavioral residents.
• Must be a supportive team member and contribute to teamwork.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, staff, families, and the public.
• Background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate with resident services to maintain the resident’s total regimen of care in the Special Treatment Unit (STP).
• Participate in facility surveys conducted by government agencies as required.
• Periodically review the resident’s written discharge plan and update as needed.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents according to policy.
• Complete injury/incident reports and necessary documentation.
• Complete and file required medical forms, reports, and charting.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ protected health information and report any violations.
• Assist in planning nursing portions of discharge plans and care programs.
