Job summary

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL is seeking a part-time PRN Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health. The role focuses on administering nursing care, medication administration, documentation, and patient education within a specialized unit.

The position requires IL RN licensure, an associate degree in nursing, and BLS certification within 30 days. Prior blood-draw experience is preferred, with basic computer skills and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN licensure.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Prior blood-draw knowledge preferred.
• Basic computer skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers and controls narcotics, medications and IV therapies in accordance with the RN practice act.
• Demonstrates nursing process in assessment, care plan development and evaluation.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documents.
• Assesses and plans patient/family education and discharge needs.
• Recognizes and responds to emergencies appropriately.
• Collaborates with other health care team members to ensure quality care.
