Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group – North Iowa is seeking a Behavioral Health Nurse to provide assessments, care coordination and education across inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services in Mason City, IA. You will collaborate with the treatment team to ensure safe transitions and promote community education on behavioral health topics.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Iowa or qualified multistate licensure.
• BSN preferred.
• Ability to be non-judgmental regarding living and health related decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs.
• Collaborates with Behavioral Health teams to achieve patient outcomes and smooth transitions of care.
• Provides learning opportunities to meet educational needs of patients, families or community members.
• Documents patient information accurately in medical records in a timely manner.
• Delivers competent patient care, considering age-specific needs and appropriate procedures.
• Communicates patient changes to colleagues and the care team.
