Job summary

Saint John Hospital, Inc. in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (12-hour, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in the inpatient psychiatric unit.

The RN will assess patients with mental health disorders, administer medications, de-escalate crises, and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure safe, effective care. Sign-on bonus of $20,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid RN license in the state.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.
• Experience with inpatient/outpatient behavioral health units.
• Understanding of interdisciplinary treatment teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive mental and physical health assessments.
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor effects.
• De-escalate crises using trauma-informed approaches.
• Build therapeutic relationships and support recovery.
• Ensure safety with routine checks and adherence to unit protocols.
