Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health in a PRN night-shift role. The unit specializes in adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses and acuities. A 1:6–1:9 nurse-to-patient ratio supports comprehensive, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina RN license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
• Perform timely and accurate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
