Job summary

West Pines Behavioral Hospital in Westminster, CO is hiring an RN to provide professional nursing care in a new 144-bed inpatient behavioral health setting. You will assess physical and behavioral health needs, develop care plans, and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities include documenting care, administering medications, and coordinating admissions/discharges while maintaining patient safety and therapeutic rapport with the team.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license or compact license with ability to obtain Colorado RN license.
• One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric/behavioral or substance abuse nursing a plus.
• Current CPR certification on hire or within 30 days (training provided).
• De-escalation and restrain certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care and services per state act, policies and protocols.
• Ensure orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Monitor patient status and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status or emergencies.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities and communicate professionally with the team.
