Job summary

West Pines Behavioral Hospital in Westminster, CO, seeks licensed therapists to join inpatient and outpatient teams serving Denver area residents.

Requires a Master’s degree and at least four years of therapy experience, with two years in the facility’s target population. You will provide psychotherapy, complete assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or other therapeutic field is required.
• Four or more years’ experience as a therapist with two or more years’ experience with the specific population of the facility is required.

Responsibilities

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques to individuals and families to treat emotional and mental disorders.
• Conduct individual, group or family therapy per the treatment plan.
• Develop initial discharge plan after psychosocial assessment.
• Provide initial treatment planning and coordinate additional services.
• Maintain documentation of therapy services to professional standards.
• Maintain an assigned caseload.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff.
• Provide services in inpatient or outpatient settings as needed.
• Assist in case management, discharge or after-care planning.
• Assist in training staff on behavior management or crisis intervention.
• Coordinate clinical, psychosocial or educational activities with families.
• Evaluate need for referrals to other programs or facilities.
• Assist in training of new clinical staff and interns.
• Demonstrate empathetic professional attitude and address patient complaints.

West Pines Behavioral Hospital is a new 144-bed inpatient behavioral health facility serving Denver area residents located at 11455 Huron Street, Westminster, CO. A joint venture between Intermountain Health and Acadia Healthcare. Just opened in December 2024, the hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and intensive outpatient services to address the growing need for accessible, high-quality behavioral health care in the Denver metro area.

Pay range: $38.00- $48.64

Essential Functions

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families for the purpose of treating such diagnosed emotional and mental disorders.
• Conduct individual, group or family therapy as appropriate for the treatment plan of the patient.
• Conduct a psychosocial assessment and develop an initial discharge plan.
• Provide initial treatment planning for patient based on assessment and coordinate any additional services needed and revise as necessary.
• Maintain documentation of therapy services provided to each patient according to facility and professional standards, revising as necessary.
• Maintain a caseload as assigned.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with other staff to facilitate services for the patient as appropriate to their treatment plan.
• May provide these services in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
• Provide case management, discharge planning or after-care planning according to treatment plan.
• May assist in educating and training staff on behavior management or therapeutic crisis intervention.
• May coordinate various clinical, psychosocial or educational activities with patient and their families.
• Evaluate patient's need and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
• May assist in the training of new clinical staff and interns.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or other therapeutic field is required.
• Four or more years’ experience as a therapist with two or more years’ experience with the specific population of the facility is required.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• State or national licensure for professional therapy providers required.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
