Job summary

Advocate Health's Behavioral Health unit in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse to support patient care across multiple shifts. You will participate in governance, use the nursing process to plan and evaluate care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

You will maintain high standards of safety, document accurately in EHR, and be prepared to float within the service area as needed. A BSN is preferred, with an active RN license and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed RN with state privileges to practice in the designated state.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Applies nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety.
• Evaluates outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively and supports team collaboration.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed staff.
• Maintains accurate EHR documentation.
• May float to other units as needed.
• Demonstrates age-specific care knowledge.
