Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah, TN is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift, 7:00 am–7:00 pm with rotating weekends. The 24-bed unit specializes in dementia with behavioral disturbances and offers 24/7 physician support in the ER.

You will perform assessments, develop care plans, supervise staff, administer medications, document care, and coordinate transfers. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Active Tennessee RN license; BLS certification at hire; PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care according to identified problems and patient preferences.
• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Assists in determining staffing levels and assignments based on census and acuity.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and documents care delivered.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient transfer and discharge.
