Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical nursing care in Oregon.

The role requires establishing therapeutic relationships, coordinating interventions, and maintaining patient safety while adhering to professional standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include crisis assessment, patient/family education, accurate documentation, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to plan and evaluate care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required by law and licensing board.
• BSN preferred but not required by all units.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains therapeutic nurse-patient relationships.
• Coordinates with peers to assign or delegate nursing interventions.
• Performs nursing procedures including physical exams, specimen collection, and mental status examinations.
• Responds to crisis using unit, hospital and community resources and adheres to seclusion/restraint policies.
• Facilitates patient and family learning across the care continuum and coordinates follow-up when needed.
• Delivers care in compliance with nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements in Oregon.
• Assesses patient conditions with critical thinking, plans actions, and evaluates progress.
• Accurately calculates and administers medications per policy.
• Documents all patient care in medical records and supports quality improvement initiatives.
• Promotes professional growth and maintains effective communication with care teams and patients.
