Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health Unit at Richmond Community Hospital (PRN). The role focuses on compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a behavioral health setting, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Responsibilities include direct patient care per plan, assessments, medication administration, wound care, patient/family interviews, injury assessment, and collaboration with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and RN licensure required.
• BLS preferred or ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS before direct patient care.
• Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience.
• Recent behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as per plan of care and monitor progress.
• Assess and document patient conditions; report changes as needed.
• Administer medications, insulin, and IV fluids; document thoroughly.
• Inspect wounds, change dressings, assist with hygiene.
• Use interviewing skills to gather information from patients and families.
• Assess for injuries; deliver appropriate treatments.
• Collaborate with providers and health team to optimize outcomes.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
