Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the North Tampa Behavioral team at our adult facility in Wesley Chapel, FL. The role includes admissions facilitation, intake assessments, and utilization review to ensure appropriate care levels.

Available shifts are full-time days or nights. The position requires an RN license in Florida and at least 1 year of nursing experience, ideally in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
• One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric/behavioral or substance use nursing experience a plus
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire)
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards of nursing practice and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Monitor patient status and document changes accurately.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status or emergencies.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently.
