Job summary

Youth Care is seeking a PRN RN to join our behavioral health team in Utah. The role involves 12-hour shifts with weekend coverage and two shifts per month, delivering direct patient care in a youth-focused program.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/mental/behavioral or substance use nursing experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Ensure orders are legible and transcribed correctly; follow policies and procedures.
• Assess patient status continuously and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status and challenges.
• Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission tailored to needs.
• Demonstrate universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications per orders.
• Document controlled substance administration counts on required documents.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently.
• Maintain professional rapport and boundaries with patients.
