Job summary

Trinity Health Grand Rapids is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Behavioral Health Crisis Center. You will assess patients on admission, collaborate with psychiatrists and therapists to create crisis intervention plans, administer treatments, and monitor progress while maintaining documentation.

Ideal candidates have an ADN with BSN preferred, 1 year of nursing experience (mental health or crisis setting preferred), and strong crisis intervention knowledge.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
• In Grand Rapids if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a mental health or crisis intervention setting.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions, crisis intervention techniques, and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick and informed decisions.
• Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to working with individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and mental health status upon admission.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other team members to develop personalized crisis intervention and stabilization plans.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by medical professionals.
• Monitor clients' progress and respond effectively to changes in their condition.
• Provide emotional support, psychoeducation, and coping strategies to clients and their families.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records.
