Job summary

Norman Regional Health System and Oceans Healthcare are expanding behavioral health services in south central Oklahoma with a new 48-bed behavioral hospital. The Registered Nurse will lead milieu management and direct nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and strict adherence to policies.

The RN assesses patients, administers medications, documents progress, and maintains licensure while supporting performance-improvement standards and Joint Commission requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Registered Nurse license.
• Provide patient care using the nursing process to develop individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications safely and educate patients on prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, evaluation.
• Identify risk levels and discharge planning.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychiatric disorders and appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Maintain professionalism and clinical accountability in nursing care.
• Document accurately in medical records and transcribe physician orders.
• Communicate patient needs to staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Assign and delegate duties, while advocating for patient safety.
• Utilize nursing knowledge to support evidence-based practice.
• Float among clinical services and perform other duties as assigned.
