Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a licensed psychologist to oversee psychological and behavioral management across our DD Pediatric and Independent Living facilities. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards while guiding staff, conducting evaluations, and delivering therapeutic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • . Doctorate in Psychology and license preferred.
  • . One year of experience in psychological healthcare, including interviews, testing and behavioral management.
  • . Knowledge of Federal and State LTC Developmental Disability regulations.
  • . Ability to work with residents, families, staff, and community agencies.
  • . Proficient reading/writing/speaking English; capable of producing concise clinical reports.
  • . Ability to make independent decisions in residents’ best interest.
  • . Marketing skills to present Alden's DD Program to the community and professionals.
  • . Desire to work with diverse populations in long-term or short-term care.
  • . Ability to assess populations via interviews/testing; guide staff in therapeutic approaches.
  • . Leadership and teamwork; accept supervision; maintain confidentiality.
  • . Flexibility with working hours; emotional awareness of self and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor facility goals through a team approach.
  • Develop therapeutic, clinical, person-centered initiatives for residents’ psychological and behavioral needs.
  • Maintain all policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct and document psychological evaluations and testing through reports.
  • Understand residents’ backgrounds to guide staff on psychological needs.
  • Document interactions for resident advocacy and clinical records.
  • Oversee behavior management and develop behavior plans with staff and psychiatrists.
  • Provide supportive counseling and timely documentation.
  • Deliver quarterly staff trainings on behavioral management and mental health.
  • Educate families, residents, and staff; model appropriate interactions.
  • Participate in audits and public health surveys; be on-call for visits.
  • Maintain records; support Quality Improvement programs.
