Penquis is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) to work with children and young adults through hands-on skill building and community-based support. This role focuses on helping clients build confidence, practice daily living skills, and develop greater independence through interactive activities and outings.

Responsibilities include teaching directions, non-verbal communication, safety skills, money skills, and meal planning during community outings and activities.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Maine driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Access to a cell phone.
• Must meet background-check requirements during hire and ongoing.
• Includes paid leave.
• Paid training for BHP certifications: BHP, First Aid/CPR, Safety Care, Trauma Informed Care, Mandated Reporter.

Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) – Kennebec & Somerset County

Part time (up to 20 hours per week, primarily during afternoon and early evening hours). Community / Field Based.

Penquis is seeking a part‑time Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) to work with children and young adults through hands‑on skill building and community‑based support. This role focuses on helping clients build confidence, practice daily living skills, and develop greater independence through interactive activities and outings.

Responsibilities

• Use games and activities to teach directions and healthy emotional responses.
• Use video clips and other tools to practice non‑verbal communication skills.
• Support community outings that build safety skills and positive friendships.
• Teach money skills and independent community interactions during errands and outings.
• Practice meal planning and cooking skills with clients.
• Help clients learn self‑soothing strategies and how to ask for help.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Maine driver's license in good standing with reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
• Access to a cell phone or smartphone.
• Ability to meet Penquis background‑check requirements upon hire and periodically thereafter, with satisfactory results as required by current contract provisions.
