Job summary

Highland Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist for Behavioral Health on a PRN basis. You will join an interdisciplinary team to coordinate pharmaceutical care and optimize drug therapy for patients in our behavioral health hospital.

You will review medication orders, provide drug information to staff and patients, and document interventions for quality improvement while ensuring accuracy before entry and after dispensing. Ohio licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in the state of Ohio.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides the pharmaceutical care of patients.
• Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
• Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
• Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
