Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med/Surg unit on a PRN schedule. The role focuses on one-to-one sitter duties, patient safety, and supportive care across daily activities.

Ideal candidates bring BLS certification and prior healthcare or behavioral health exposure. This position emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and maintaining a therapeutic milieu within the unit.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines.
• Previous healthcare, CNA, Behavioral Health, or Patient Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Sit for patients in a one-to-one role.
• Maintain therapeutic milieu and high-quality patient care.
• Escort patients to activities safely.
• Monitor vital signs and document accurately.
• Assist with daily living activities and unit cleanliness
