Job summary

Family Care Center in Georgetown, TX is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide direct psychiatric and medical services in an outpatient setting under physician supervision. You will perform diagnostic evaluations, manage medications, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, and maintain accurate records to ensure high-quality mental health care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an NCCPA-approved physician assistant program.
• 1-year clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting preferred.
• Current PA licensure in the state of practice and active state DEA license required.
• PA with Psych CAQ preferred.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychiatric diagnostic evaluations to determine diagnoses and care coordination needs.
• Provide all psychiatric/medical services within medical standards and licensing board requirements.
• Maintain medical records for all evaluated and treated patients.
• Performs pharmacologic treatment strategies, orders medications, monitors progress.
• Order, obtain and assess laboratory tests and diagnostics; base decisions on results.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Ensure timely access to care and meet productivity standards.
• Under supervision of a physician, assume client care responsibilities including evaluation and prescribing.
• Complete medication and health education including informed consent and risks/benefits.
• Care coordination with families/agencies/ PCP and other providers.
• Conduct Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation mappings/remapping when trained.
• Remain in compliance with state PA laws including supervised hours and CME.
