Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice by delivering evidence-based educational programs for nursing and clinical staff at the facility.

In this role you will lead onboarding, promote retention, collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development, design activities to close practice gaps, and advance lifelong learning with a focus on EBP and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
• RN license in the state of practice or a compact state license is required.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) is required.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in the development, coordination, and management of competency activities.
• Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified audiences.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to knowledge, skill and practice improvement.
• Promotes evidence-based practice (EBP) and supports research, EBP, and quality improvement in patient care.
• Identifies lifelong learning opportunities and supports staff development.
• Utilizes the novice-to-expert continuum for staff development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Master’s degree in nursing

Basic Life Saving (BLS)

Nationally Recognized Specialty certification

RN license in state of practice or compact state license
