Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks a Behavioral Health Associate to provide direct patient care for behavioral health patients, assist with safety and group activities, and support recovery planning and daily living skills.

Responsibilities include coordinating with social services, nursing, and recreational therapy, promoting involvement, and helping with discharge readiness and activity promotion.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Human Services.
• High School Diploma with 2 years experience in Behavioral Health.
• If in Bachelor's or Associates program, will graduate within two years of hire date.
• Preferred: Associates or Bachelors in Social Service area.
• Internship or 1 year working with behavioral health population.
• Knowledge or education in Substance use field.
• Basic counseling, ability to teach daily living skills, problem solving and good written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients.
• Assist with milieu safety/management and group/individual interventions.
• Monitor visiting hours and co-facilitate groups.
• Promote recovery supports and daily living activities outside the treatment center.
• Promote collaboration with social services, nursing and recreation therapy.
