Job summary

The Dimock Center in Roxbury, MA is seeking a Medication Specialist to ensure safe, compliant medication management for residents in a BSAS-licensed COE program. You will support medication self-administration, reconciliation, documentation, secure storage, monitoring, and coordination of medications throughout admission, treatment, discharge, and transitions of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of two years working with a vulnerable population.
• Current Medication Specialist Certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in residential substance use treatment preferred.
• Education in medication management, behavioral health, nursing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage residents' prescribed medications in accordance with program policies and BSAS requirements.
• Complete medication reconciliation and obtain accurate medication information during admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Receive, verify, document, securely store, and maintain medications according to procedures.
• Oversee resident self-administration of prescribed medications.
• Maintain medication administration records and inventories; address discrepancies.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and missed doses.
• Communicate medication-related observations to nurses, prescribers, and treatment team.
• Assist with MAT/MOUD within program protocols.
