Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Riverside, California is seeking a Medical Unit Clerk for the Arlington Campus Emergency Treatment Services to support physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in the medical treatment unit.

You will perform clerical duties, maintain census and charts, schedule appointments, arrange transport, manage referrals, and provide end-of-shift reports, with emphasis on accuracy and communication.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical experience in a health care agency; substitutions allowed per education or training.
• Must know medical terminology; medical assistant coursework preferred.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficiency required.
• BLS certification required (AHA).

Responsabilités

• Answer and direct phone calls; assemble and manage patient charts and assignment logs.
• Process referrals, census data, and maintain filing systems.
• Order stock supplies and perform light stocking duties; provide end-of-shift reports.
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange in-house patient transport.
• Transcribe physician orders and communicate with staff; assist with lab orders and consults.

Secretarial sciences / medical assisting coursework
