Behavioral Health Medical Director - Psychiatrist Virginia Medicaid

Join CareBridge as a Behavioral Health Medical Director - Psychiatrist for Virginia Medicaid.

Position Overview

This hybrid role requires in-office presence 3 days per week to foster collaboration, with flexibility for remote work. The position involves overseeing physical and behavioral health services, ensuring cost-effective and quality care, developing programs, and providing clinical consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support clinicians for timely responses to members and providers.
  2. Conduct peer reviews and discuss patient visits with providers.
  3. Serve as a resource and represent the company externally if needed.
  4. Interpret and develop medical policies and guidelines.
  5. Lead initiatives to improve healthcare quality, cost, and outcomes.
  6. Identify opportunities for innovation in clinical practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • MD or DO with Board certification (ABMS or AOA).
  • Active unrestricted medical license.
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical experience; 5 years for certain organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Virginia medical license and residency preferred.
  • Child and Adolescent certification and experience preferred.
  • Experience with Substance Use Disorders and Treatment.
