Join us at CareBridge as a Behavioral Health Medical Director- Psychiatrist Virginia Medicaid.

Position Details

Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office per week, with flexibility; alternate locations considered).

The Behavioral Health Medical Director- Psychiatrist oversees the administration of physical and behavioral health services, ensuring cost-effective, quality care. Responsibilities include developing programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes, providing clinical consultation, and serving as a strategic advisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clinicians to ensure timely responses to members and providers.
  • Conduct peer reviews with physicians and providers.
  • Serve as a resource and represent the company externally.
  • Interpret and develop medical policies and guidelines.
  • Lead clinical and non-clinical activities to enhance healthcare quality and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation.
Minimum Requirements
  • MD or DO with Board certification (ABMS or AOA).
  • Active, unrestricted medical license.
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical experience; 5 years for Health Solutions and Carelon organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Virginia medical license and residency preferred.
  • Child and Adolescent certification or experience preferred.
  • Experience with Substance Use Disorders and Treatment preferred.
