Job summary

Chinatown Service Center in California is seeking a Behavioral Health Medical Assistant to support patient care, perform vital signs and routine tests, document in EHR, and assist with injections and immunizations. The role requires bilingual English/Chinese skills and a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
• Bilingual English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) or Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessment, vital signs, EKG, and basic tests.
• Perform accurate EHR documentation.
• Obtain blood specimens and perform routine procedures.
• Administer injections/immunizations as ordered.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control in exam rooms.
• Coordinate care with providers to meet behavioral health goals.
• Assist enrollment and referrals to medical care for uninsured.
• Provide advocacy and support for navigating health and social systems.
• Travel between sites as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in clinic development.
