Job summary

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES INC in California is seeking a Medical Assistant to support efficient, patient‑centered care across primary care, behavioral health, women’s health and MAT. Under supervision, you’ll assist providers, room patients, take vital signs, collect medical history, and prepare for examinations.

You’ll perform injections, immunizations, point‑of‑care tests, EKGs, phlebotomy where needed, manage specimen collection, sterilization, and accurate EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited institution is required.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and HIPAA compliance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Performs preventive care screenings and maintains accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Administer injections and immunizations as ordered.
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., glucose, pregnancy tests) and specimen collection.
• Assist providers during examinations and coordinate with team for patient care.
• Support MAT/SUD intake, screening, and treatment coordination; ensure follow‑up appointments.
