Job summary

MyCHN (Community Health Network) in Greater Houston is seeking a Behavioral Health Medical Assistant to support behavioral health and psychiatry services, ensuring smooth clinic operations and patient-centered care.

You will assist with direct patient care, exams, admissions, authorizations, and documentation, maintain schedules, coordinate with care teams, and provide translation support when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from a state-approved school (Certified or Registered preferred).
• At least one year of healthcare or behavioral health experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems.
• Preferred bilingual in Vietnamese or Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including intake, vitals, screenings, testing, and injections.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, treatment plans, medications, and prior authorizations.
• Manage internal communications and respond to patient and team inquiries in a timely manner.
• Support laboratory processes, including specimen collection and communicating results to patients.
• Assist in maintaining provider schedules and supporting clinic productivity goals.
• Participate in daily huddles and collaborate with care teams to prepare for patient visits.
• Provide translation assistance when needed for verbal and written communications.
• Maintain logs, records, and reports in accordance with department standards.
• Ensure medical supplies are stocked and available for clinic operations.
• Perform emergency procedures in accordance with approved protocols.
• Adhere to all organizational policies, clinical guidelines, and confidentiality standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within scope.

What You Bring:
