Job summary

Family Care Center in Memphis is looking for a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a busy outpatient clinic. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the EMR, and assist with injections and basic procedures.

The role emphasizes patient communication, coordination with providers, and adherence to safety and privacy standards. Qualifications focus on formal MA training, EMR experience, and a willingness to learn in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of formal training program as a medical assistant required.
• 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred; EMR experience and health insurance preferred.
• RMA or CMA certification preferred
• BLS preferred

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document chief complaint, allergies, current medications, and other pertinent information.
• Measure vital signs and record in patient chart.
• Communicate with patients as instructed by physician or nurse practitioner.
• Provide written prescriptions for patients and document appropriately.
• Ensure reports, labs and information are uploaded into the medical record before appointments.
• Under supervision, communicate abnormal lab results to patients.
• Triीage and process portal and phone messages from patients and staff to physicians.
• Document any reactions to medications in patient’s chart.
• Maintain logs and required checks (refrigerator temps, meds, etc.).
• Schedule/adjust follow-up appointments and ensure correct authorization.
• Monitor patients during telemedicine and relay notable findings to remote provider.
• Perform injections as needed.
