Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a PRN/Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations under a licensed pharmacist. You will prepare medications, label IV admixtures, package and label units, and deliver meds to hospital units.

Requires a Michigan Pharmacy Technician License, completion of a certification program or training, and strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service. Hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as Pharmacy Technician or at least one year training as tech trainee.
• Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Knowledge of use and dispensing of medications; ability to read and comprehend physician orders.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares medications for pharmacist review before dispensing.
• Performs tasks involved with preparation and labeling of IV admixtures and record keeping.
• Packages dry orals, liquid orals and small volume injectables in unit-of-use containers.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas within appropriate time frames.
• Ensures medications are billed to the correct areas or patients.
• Removes expired medications from inventory and stores properly.
• Processes transfers and discharges according to departmental procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
