Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Behavioral Health Director to oversee the Behavioral Health Unit, ensuring high-quality services, regulatory compliance, and robust treatment planning. The role emphasizes staff supervision, cross-department coordination, and ongoing quality assurance initiatives.

The successful candidate will hold a master's degree in a human service field, have experience with severe mental illness, possess supervisory experience, and demonstrate strong communication and EMR

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a human service field.
• Experience working with people with severe mental illness, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions.
• Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with an electronic medical record (EMR).
• Willingness to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, staff, families, and regulators.
• Excellent communication skills in listening, speaking, and writing.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, even in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the Behavioral Health Unit.
• Ensure quality treatment and behavioral interventions for unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop behavioral interventions.
• Ensure admissions to the Behavioral Health Unit are appropriate per policy.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across the unit.
• Hire, train and supervise Behavioral Health Counselors.
• Work flexible hours as needed for unit operation.
• Prepare and oversee evidence-based treatment/interventions and staff training.
• Respond to crisis per facility policy and procedure.
• Complete documentation and oversee staff in compliance with regulations.
