The Chautauqua Center, Inc. (TCC Health) in Jamestown, NY, seeks a Behavioral Health Director to lead our clinical team in delivering high-quality mental health and behavioral services.

You will oversee operations, supervise clinicians and support staff, and drive compliance and continuous improvement across programs. Ideal candidates have a Doctoral degree in Psychiatry or related field, NY licensure, and proven management experience in an OMH Licensed or FQHC setting.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychiatry or related field required.
• Licensed to practice in New York State required.
• At least 1 year of full-time paid experience in clinical management in an OMH Licensed or FQHC setting required.
• Experience in an integrated behavioral health model and NYS Art 28, 31 and 32 regulations preferred.
• Ability to travel to multiple sites required.
• Excellent communication and writing skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
• Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served; bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all behavioral health programs, including mental health and addiction services.
• Supervise clinical staff and support personnel, ensuring professional development.
• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with patient needs and established protocols.
• Oversee patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and documentation to ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Implement evidence-based practices such as CBT, ABA, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
• Coordinate intake processes, crisis protocols, group therapy, and family involvement to optimize outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to regulations including ICD coding, EMR/EHR management, and medical records documentation.
• Foster a culturally competent environment while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Behavioral Health Director to lead our clinical team in delivering high-quality mental health and behavioral care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical expertise, and a passion for improving community health outcomes. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement in behavioral health services.

Duties

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all behavioral health programs, including mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and neurodevelopmental disorder services.
• Supervise clinical staff, including clinicians, therapists, case managers, and support personnel, ensuring effective team management and professional development.
• Treats a patient and develops treatment plan according to the needs of the patient's needs and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental or behavioral disorder.
• Oversee patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Implement evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care across programs.
• Coordinate intake processes, crisis management protocols, group therapy sessions, and family involvement to optimize patient outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations including ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10), EMR/EHR management, and medical records documentation.
• Foster a culturally competent environment that respects diverse backgrounds while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Requirements

• Doctoral level degree in Psychiatry or related mental health field
• Licensed to practice in New York State
• At least 1 year full-time paid experience in clinical management in an OMH Licensed or FQHC setting.
