Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Direct Care Technician for our Facility Based Crisis Center in Washington, NC. You will help create a safe, therapeutic environment and engage clients through psychoeducational groups and activities.

You will transport clients, assist with admissions and referrals, support discharge planning, and maintain accurate records. Certification as a CNA or peer support is a plus, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but not required.
• Maintain valid state driver’s license and auto insurance for work vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and provide client support.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and activities.
• Transport clients to activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist with admissions, referrals, and coordination with community teams.
• Support discharge planning and housing resources.
• Monitor medications (when certified) and document client records.

Pay: $16.82 Hour

What You’ll Do

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while providing client support, encouragement, and motivation.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups, therapeutic activities, and leisure/recreational programming.
• Transport clients to program activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist with admissions, referrals, documentation, and coordination with community agencies and treatment teams.
• Support discharge planning, aftercare arrangements, and housing resources.
• Administer medications (when certified), monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate client records.

What You’ll Bring

• Maintain valid state appropriate driver's license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work with no restrictions.
