Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Care Technician for a full-time mid-shift (4pm–12am) position at our facility-based clinic in Washington, NC. You will help maintain a therapeutic, safe environment and tend to clients' welfare while providing on-the-job counseling and support.

The role offers full benefits and opportunities for growth as part of a mission-driven nonprofit focused on mental health and substance use services. Entry-level applicants are welcome with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• Maintain valid state driver’s license and auto insurance for agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a therapeutic, safe group environment and address welfare and basic needs of clients.
• Provide informal counseling in the detox center using behavioral techniques and supportive encouragement.
• Support peer interactions and client socialization within the program.

Your Role in Our Mission

As a Direct Care Technician, on the team you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a therapeutic and safe group environment and attending to the welfare and basic needs of clients. You will provide informal counseling in the detox center that involve behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement and socialization skills for the clients.

We have the following shifts open:

Schedule

Full time: Mid shift: 4pm to 12am during the week and every other weekend.

We also offer a full benefits package for benefits-eligible positions.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive Salary: $16.82/hr. for these full-time positions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.

• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but is not required.
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work.
